Electrolux Trilobite - A Great Present !
The Ultimate Present For The Person Who Has Everything This Christmas...
What do you buy the person who has everything this Christmas? Theyve got all the latest gadgets from the 3G mobile phone to MP3 player and it can be frustrating trying to find a special present for the one you love. So why not consider something slighty different this year - the Trilobite from Electrolux, the robotic vacuum cleaner which is sure to be on the 'must have' present list this Christmas.
The ultimate lifestyle accessory, the Trilobite is packed with sophisticated technology, including bat-like acoustic radar, and can vacuum the floor all on its own. A style statement in its own right, the award winning Trilobite's sexy design means the lucky recipient won't want to keep it locked away in a cupboard in fact, their friends are sure to be jealous of the new housemate when they come round for Christmas drinks!
Navigating by acoustic radar, the Trilobite moves across the floor to the nearest wall, and then patrols around the perimeter of the room. Whilst cleaning along the walls, it calculates an optiumum time to cover the room. Its clever design means it can also clean areas that are usually hard to reach such as beneath low furniture and under the bed.
As it moves, the Trilobite's radar detects any obstacles, such as furniture and it simply navigates around them to continue on its way. When it has finished cleaning, it will return to its charging station and automatically recharge its batteries. Similarly, if the machine needs recharging before it has completed the cleaning, it will automatically recharge itself, and then resume cleaning where it left off.
The Trilobite's maximum speed is 0.4 meters per second, and it has no problem avoiding collisions with anything you place on the floor for example, the dogs water bowl. It will simply redirect itself and continue cleaning. Special magnetic strips can be placed in doorways, near stairs and other openings to act as a wall, keeping the Trilobite in the room.
The Trilobite combines a variety of technologies such as mechanics, electronics, acoustics, and software science. In creating it, Electrolux engineers not only used a century of experience in vacuum cleaner manufacturing but also used technology from cars, submarines and ballistic applications. There are four motors - one for each driven wheel, one for the roller that collects dirt and dust and one for the fan.

ELECTROLUX Trilobite 2.0 ZA2 - NEW MODEL
Ref: ZA2
When we introduced the Trilobite, the worlds first fully automatic domestic vacuum cleaner in 2001, it created a sensation. One publication voted it among the 100 most innovative designs of the century. And our customers fell in love with it.
Now, having listened to your feedback, were introducing a second-generation Trilobite 2.0. Its still fully automatic and self recharging, but weve made more than 200 small improvements. Some of these improvements are not visible to the naked eye. Others are highly visiable and much appreciated discover them here. Whats your dream-cleaning scenario? Twice a week? Once a day? Starting at 11am? With our new programmable Trilobite, you can set cleaning times in advance. And with all that regular cleaning, youll soon realise that dust build-up is a thing of the past. First, select the type of cleaning programme you want normal, quick or spot. Then press the start button for immediate cleaning, or set the programmable timer for the time and day you prefer. If youve just had dinner guests, you might want to set it loose on those floor crumbs straight away. On the other hand, maybe it can wait until tomorrows regularly programmed cleaning.
Much like a bat, the Trilobite sends out harmless ultrasonic signals to spot objects and avoid them. It begins by edging along the walls to map the size of the room, while simultaneously cleaning the edges. Then it efficiently cleans the whole room. Thanks to the suction technology inside, it not only picks up dust balls and stray cornflakes, but fine dust particles as well. A sophisticated suspension prevents the machine from getting stuck, and a special sensor stops it from ever falling down the stairs.
Fully automatic and slender enough to fit under beds and sofas, the Trilobite takes the backache out of cleaning. The round shape and ingenious dust pick-up system are designed to handle everything from deep-pile carpets to hardwood floors. The round shape prevents it from getting stuck in corners and enables us to position built-in sensors around a 180-degree field of vision. This way, your machine can spot even the most delicate of objects and avoid them by a few millimetres.
Unlike some robotic vacuum cleaners, which require manual recharging, the Trilobite automatically finds its way back to the charger. After recharging it will either stop and wait dutifully for your next command, or keep on cleaning until done. The only thing left for you to do is change the filter and empty the dust container when needed. But dont worry, weve made that part really easy.
